Green Beacon Opens

Last night I skipped out on the EMA Awards to celebrate the opening and first of many green home workshops at the newly formed Green Beacon Foundation. Julie Solomon provided us with Bossa’s organic wine from Uruguay, an organic gardening workshop where I came away with a lovely pot of chives and the knowledge to dip your plants in water with seaweed extract before transplanting by Heart Beet Gardening, and a business card for a place called Auntie Em’s who made such lovely cupcakes for the event. Julie greened over her house with only $50k and in two weeks of time, and has now opened it up for the public to come and take tours every Saturday and learn that greening your home (ANY home) is attainable. greenbeacon.org Check out Julie’s green home adventures on Planet Green’s Greenovate program.
